JFD was approached by a new client to design a series of concepts for a large house extension located in Upminster, Essex. The client also required JFD to reconfigure the existing ground floor space, whilst adding a series of first-floor extensions to create a larger footprint, encompassing a master bedroom suite with ensuite and dressing room, and a new family bathroom. The ground floor space was to be extended to create an open plan living environment to suit their modern family needs.

The extension was to blur the boundaries between internal and external spaces to allow greater interaction with the outdoor space and generous plot. The client wanted to explore the use of textures and shapes in the interior design element of the project, of which can be seen reflected within the tile designs and formats.
