Project in detail
Once abandoned and in a state of disrepair, this striking water tower has been given a new lease of life through a considered and sustainable redevelopment. JFD Architecture were appointed to deliver a comprehensive design scheme, including full landscape design, to support a change of use application from utility structure to a unique habitable dwelling.
Working within the tight site constraints and respecting the character of this non-designated heritage asset, the proposal carefully balances preservation with contemporary intervention. The approved scheme celebrates the tower’s historic presence while integrating high-performance insulation, renewable technologies, and low-impact materialsto ensure long-term environmental efficiency.
This sensitive conversion demonstrates JFD’s commitment to sustainable architecture, transforming forgotten structures into modern, energy-efficient homes with enduring character and purpose.
